Berry-Basil smoothie

This is a refreshing smoothie and the basil gives a perfect balance of sweet and savoury. You’ll need to like basil for this one, but it doesn’t overpower the taste, just heightens the sweetness of the vanilla and raspberry flavours. AND Basil is so good for you – among other things it’s known to be an anti-inflammatory, reduce pain and protect your liver. What’s not to like?

Ingredients

Handful spinach
2 cm ginger
Three leaves basil
15 raspberries
1 large tsp cashew butter
2 scoops Vanilla protein powder
300ml Coconut water

Method

Prepare all the ingredients and put into a smoothie maker (I use a nutri-bullet).  Whizz for 40 seconds and enjoy – hmmm :-)
