21 Positive Body Image and Food Freedom Affirmations

Words are powerful. I use affirmations in my own life and also with clients to help them in their journey towards healing their relationship with food and body image.

Here’s 21 affirmations to use (say them out loud, write them down, print them and keep them with you wherever you go…)

Positive Body Image

  • I feed my body with nourishing food

  • I am learning to see my body as a gift that I treat with respect

  • I treat my body with love and care

  • I am grateful for all the things I can DO with my body

  • I am NOT my body

  • I deserve to feel good

  • Life doesn’t start when I lose weight. Life has already started and I choose to live my life.

  • I am grateful to my stomach for helping me digest my food

  • I am grateful to my legs for helping me explore places

  • I choose to speak to myself kindly

  • Self-care isn’t selfish and today I choose to look after myself

Food Freedom

  • The food I choose to eat does NOT determine my self worth

  • I am learning to eat without guilt or stress

  • I can eat food whenever I want. There is no restriction and therefore no need to binge.

  • I release the food rules that no longer serve me

  • I am learning to eat as much as I need: not too little and not too much

  • Food tastes good, and I’m learning to savour it

  • It is safe for me to listen to my hunger

  • I is safe for me to feel my fullness

  • I am grateful for the pleasure food gives me

  • I choose foods that are both nourishing and enjoyable.
